The day finally came when the director of the orphanage called Nico into his office. He was a stern old man, with a face lined so clearly with strife and struggle that you dared not make him suffer more. Nico, a young red headed boy, entered the cavernous office. The smell of moldy wood filled the air and he coughed as he entered.

The man directed him to a chair and told him to sit, an order that Nico fulfilled with some difficulty, there was a voice telling him to defy the order. Nico searched around the office for the owner of the voice, but no one was there.

As the old man sat, the sound of his bones creaking and cracking clearly audible over the quiet, he opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a thick parchment envelope. He handed the envelope over the desk to Nico, who could clearly see that this letter had previously been opened.

"This was left here for you" the man said.

Nico curiously took the letter out of the envelope and read the pages present. His eyes widened as he read on.

"Hogwarts?" He asked the room. To his surprise the voice answered him. "This is our chance. This is our calling." This was the first time Nico was ever aware of the demon inside of him, and the demon told him his name. Kyl.

This would not be the first time he would have to keep a secret. He had another. He was a winged boy. A Nephilim, as he would soon learn. A Nephilim with a dark secret he would have to learn to control.
