Now that I know that I'm without.
Mudblood, undeserving witch. She could remember being chained to a pureblood family. It was all due to a foolish bet. She still felt chained, her magic foreign to her, no longer hers to wield freely as other wizard folks who had proper training and control over their magical gift. In fact, it took much stamina to just keep it pulsing under her skin to hold in the destructive urges of a magical entity as caged as she was. In her jaded eyes, it was more a curse than a blessing, but it kept her alive in cases that she should very well have been dead.
You can't just leave me.
Freedom was costly. While it had allowed the woman to survive, she was barely living. Watching over her shoulder constantly, in fear and anticipation of what was to come. She longed for the chains again to bind her to the world that she always knew. Even if her existence had been nothing more than a doll, a pet, a slave. It was better than not existing at all.
Breathe into me and make me real, bring me to life.
