Not because people feared her, no one even knew of her existence, apart from her adoptive fathers. When she was Eleven she got a strange letter, from a school she had never heard about, Hogwarts. Her adoptive parents thought it was about time to tell her about who she really was, and they took her shopping to Diagon Alley. Annelise read many books about wizarding life, from spells to history. By the time she was ready to go to Hogwarts she knew pretty much everything. So she packed her bags and set off to Kings Cross Station. No one knew who she was on the train, they all believed that she was a muggle born, because she went by the last name of Burtka-Harris rather than Riddle. This is because that's the only name she has known. It wasn't until her 2nd year when she started to be called Riddle, as she finally came to terms with her families past.
