"Is anything what it appears?" she asked, a bit childishly.

-"You have a very pretty name, Aurrin. If I was you, I'd take care not to lose it. Never lose your name, or you might lose yourself too," -Sindri

-"I was thrown out on my own when my 'family' found out what I was. Every since I got here, in this world, I've been tortured and hurt and no one has show me an inch of kindness...I beg of you, I know nothing of this world, please do not hurt me."

Back Story
Aurrin knew nothing about the world she was thrust into on her eleventh birthday. One moment she was playing dolls and tea parties with her friends from down the street, and the next she was alone in a world she didn't understand.

When her parents had gotten the letter, they tried to deny it. They'd moved. But the letters kept coming. And eventually, they'd been forced to accept 'it'. They'd taken her to the train station for the first time. They'd taken her to platform 9 3/4's. And that was the last time she'd see them.

When she'd come home for the holidays, they were gone. She thought back on the moments before she'd gotten on that train. Her parents had grown distant, quiet. They'd known what they were going to do. They'd left her. Abandoned her. She'd cried. But that hadn't helped. She'd screamed. But no one was there to hear. The house had gone up in flames. More unexplainable magic.

At Hogwarts, she'd thrown herself into books. She'd find a way to change, find a way to have a family again. Or she'd continue to grow distant, until the only remnants of what she had been would go up in flames.
