Corrine might as well have been born into an orphanage right away, because that was where she'd spend her whole life anyway. Her mother was a witch, and her father a simple muggle. Her father hadn't known about his wife and child being from the magical world, so when Corrine started making odd things happen, he told the woman that she could stay if she got rid of the child. The woman chose to stay.

So Corrine was sent to an orphanage, and later sent off to Hogwarts to begin school, but not without being told why she'd been at the orphanage. It filled her with hate. Still, despite her very dark persona, she was still sorted into Ravenclaw, probably for her very clever mind.
