Her twin, Dekota, was claimed by a sickness. In the short months the twins had left together, they were able to travel to Diagon Alley with their parents and shop for Dakota's supplies, all the while allowing themselves to forget the future that awaited them both. When it was time to head to the wand maker they begged their parents to allow them to switch, to allow Dekota to be chosen by the wand. Magic, at least once, her sister deserved that.
