Theodore Redwall, or Teddy, and his younger brother Terry are both muggleborn wizards living in an orphanage in London, where they have resided since Teddy was five years old. The wizarding world is new to him, and since Terry has yet to receive his Hogwarts letter, Teddy is on his own.

Teddy is very protective when it comes to his brother, so much so that he almost refused to go to Hogwarts because it meant leaving the boy for months at a time. Terry had managed to convince him otherwise, but only with promises that the he would be good and stay safe.

Before the boys were born, their mother attempted to pray to Scathach, a Celtic goddess of healing and magic, to grant her children. Unbeknownst to her, a demon answered in Scathach's stead, demanding the devotion of her first born child in return. She agreed, and so Teddy was cursed.

Because of this curse, whenever Teddy makes another person feel sadness, or anger, or fear, or any other negative emotion, he is filled with a dark sense of enjoyment that he can't explain. These feelings make him question himself, and what sort of person he is to enjoy the suffering of others.

Teddy is a boy of average height and size, with short, brown hair and bright green eyes.,
