Miss Lafleur was a ward of Headmistress Louise Ambroise, a woman who ran a very strict school for girls in Paris, France, since she was only a year old, having been dropped off by two young parents that weren't ready to settle down from their chaotic, magical lifestyle. This made Lalani the perfect child for the woman to mould into her star pupil; a little girl who never questioned authority, who grew obsessed with rules and manners, knew there was always a right and wrong -- and always chose the right. She grew accustomed to being sheltered, where the evils of the world could never reach her, where they were unbeknownst to her. One day, this would become a great burden for the girl, because the world she'd be entering into was littered with such evils, and things far worse.
Much to Lalani's fortune, the Ministry keeps track of all magical children, even those who wander from their original families. It wasn't long until an Auror found Lalani and reached out to the young girl, fully aware of the potential that not even she knew she had, and granted her permission to attend Hogwarts early, at the age of only ten years old. Lucky for Lalani, Eruanna Melanore quickly noticed the young girl's abilities and charm while she was at Hogwarts, and took the girl in as her own, making her the youngest child of the wealthy Melanore family.
