MiraL aka Mira is a witch living in Rwanda. She is a member of the unsorted masses of Hogwarts students just off the train eagerly crowding around the Sorting Hat.

About Me
Mama Mimi's house always smelled of tea leaves and earth, so much so that the smell would wash over you when you pushed away the curtains to enter her home. The walls were made of mud and clay and the furniture in the two room house was sparse, but she was always there to welcome you and give you sweet sugar cane to chew on while you visited. She wasn't Mira's real Mama, but she'd taken her in and raised her with the other survivors. After all, it took a village to raise a child.

"
Mira haraka. You be late to the Dala to town. Michael is waiting."

"
I am coming! I must just get one more strap." The sound of Velcro filled the small room that only held a single wide bed that often fit up to five. Mira fiddled more with the adjustable settings on the intricate metal where her leg would have been. Courtesy of political unrest that had ravaged her country years ago. When she was satisfied that the prosthetic would stay in place she hurriedly shoved on some old scuffed boots and flew out the door and into the yard where Mama Mimi was rolling out chapatti for dinner that night. Her mouth almost started to water at the smell, but she kept sight of her goals.

"
Bring back enough food for the week. Lots of mouths to feed. Lots of babies." Mama reminded before going back to humming a pleasant tune.

"
I will! Kwaheri Mama Mimi, I will be back before dark." As she walked the dirt paths that would take her to the Dala she applauded herself as she barely faltered, her tight curly hair bounced with each step, and she knew she should have put it in plaits before she left home. This new prosthetic was a bit tight and chaffing, but her limp was going away more each day. Soon she'd be able to travel away from here, to explore the world. Her eyes turn skyward moments before she hops into the already moving Dala and she imagines her future. Before she knew it, she was smiling.
