About Me
The night was dark and ominous and a storm raged just outside the stone walls. A little girl shivered from the cold but pressed forward, down the stairs, careful to hope over the steps she knew would make the most noise, moving ever steadily to her fathers workshop.

There was a green light beneath the door that seemed to seep out from under the thick wood, melting out into the darkness of the room. Intrigued she pressed the door open slowly, and was shocked at what she found.

Her father was standing in all his imposing glory, with his firey red hair and broad shoulders. He appeared to be in a trance as he chanted ancient words under his breath and moved his wand in complicated patters around a glowing emerald sphere.

She was transfixed by the orb, walking forward not of her own accord, with her arms outstretched. Her father was too wrapped up in his work to notice when she reached out, her fingertips brushing slightly against the raw ball of magic.

The effect was instantaneous, suddenly pain spread through her hands as they latched onto the sphere, as if the magic was trying to suck her in and consume her. Magic in it's purest form rushed through her, filling her to the brim with power that her mortal body could not handle. Her nose and eyes bled and her hands melted, the flesh morphed and twisted with the magic, moving with the current. She screamed and screamed, breaking her father's trance.

He pulled her away with all his strength, and once he stopped chanting the magic resided. The damage however, was already done and as he looked upon his daughters hands he was filled with horror. They were mangled and malformed, fingers melted together in places, and the skin looked like it had been burned and then healed into hideous scars. She would never be able to use a wand in her life.

"Shh, it's okay baby" he soothed as he brushed down her red hair. "You'll be okay." he promised into the night as his only daughter cried herself to sleep.
