Dear Diary,

I know that for as long as I could remember mother had told me my Gift for understanding was strong, but now it always seems like more than just that. I think I'm not just understanding anymore. I'm past that. Now I'm feeling too; the suffering, the sorrow, the joy and the love.

I can feel it, all of it, as though it's all happening to me, just as normally as I'd feel my own happiness or pain.

A lady was crying in the street just one eve passed; her son had been killed at war. I wept beside her, my heart aching for a boy I'd never met, shivering as though the gunshots peppered my own body and drew the breath and life from me through my wounds.

Today I was one of many in the crowded streets of London who witnessed a marriage proposal. My spirits lifted, basking in the adoration and sheer euphoria radiating from the pair. Me, who'd never felt that kind of love for myself! Elation filled me to the brim, flowing through my veins as my cheeks turned as red as the rose petals raining gently over the two. I danced my way onward, intoxicated by the bliss.

I'm scared of what I'm feeling. Many of these emotions I'm still yet to experience for myself, still they take control of my body as if they're not replicas of others' expressions, but rightfully mine...
