The winds howled as it smashed against the window panes and the trees of the forest shook in silence. The icy night felt like blades on her pale cheeks as she staggered forward, almost tripping on the uprooted trees. "Mummy?" she whispered, her voice shaking and her bottom lips trembling in fear. Another gusty wind almost tipped her over. She clung onto her cloak, her fingers numb. "Daddy?" another whisper that drowned in the winds. The horizon was widening. Crack of dawn. Ray of sunshine. She closed her eyelids and slid down onto the ground, her breathing gradually decreasing. "Goodbye."
